UST has completed a new development and introduced the "SE - SAVE ENERGY" series. The SE models automatically reduce the intensity of the UV emitter, as soon as there is no water movement for one minute. The UV emitter is then dimmed, reducing power consumption by 40%. A minimal disinfection performance is maintained permanently, and the performance immediately goes to 100% when a water flow is detected. The first models of this series, the PURE 1.2-50W-SE and the PURE 2.1-50W-SE, are now available.

Since 2022, there has been a competent distribution partner for PURE WATER in Senegal with the company SEV: https://www.soleil-eau-vie.com/en/. In June 2023, two joint projects were implemented in Kafountine. Two solar-powered ULTRA V/O3 systems were installed. One of the ozone-producing systems supplies the local hospital with hygienic drinking water. The second system is used for water treatment in a fish farming facility: https://www.ust-gera.de/en/water-disinfection/projects-in-africa/
From mid 2022 the team of UST has been developing a new water disinfection system using LED emitting UV radiation. The first two test systems are completed waiting for the upcoming test of the disinfection performance.

Especially for the disinfection of water tanks the development team of UST has designed a new model.
Water reservoirs offer the perfect environment for the growth of germs. Bacteria and other microorganism can settle at the inside of the tank and will develop a biofilm shortly causing a steady impairment of the water quality.
The PURE D-TL consists of a UV-lamp and a mounting for the easy installation inside a tank. The container will remain continuously germ free.
The system can be prepared with various length and UV-lamps of different power.
Dedicated for IBC-tanks the version PURE D40W-TL was configured. The lamp reaches 950mm inside the tank, the 40W-lamp can safely disinfect up to 1m³, The system can be prepared with 230 VAC or 24 VDC, compatible for solar power.
Invited by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), UST presented its latest technologies on water disinfection.
Special interest raised the exhibited ULTRA V150/O3 [HO] with enhanced ozone generation and advanced oxidation (AOP)
At a vivid first exhibition of the year, many new contacts were made. Especially the industrial ULTRA V-systems were in the spotlight of the visitors.
The alliance is aiming to generate synergies for two of the 17 sustainable development goals, defined by the United Nations: Access to hygienic drinking water and clean and affordable energy.
The compact ULTRA V16, equipped with photovoltaic, supplies a small water pump and a 16W-UV-system to provide hygiene drinking water almost anywhere. Also a ULTRA V41/O3 was exhibited operating with 24VDC, compatible with solar energy.
As participant of a exploration tour to Dakar, organised by Katy Schröder, business Scout at the IHK Halle, the business environment was tested and a new partnership was established. www.sev-sarl.com
Highly committed, UST contributed to a project of our partner Boreal Light. Until spring 2022 solar based systems for the production of 1 million litres per day of hygiene drinking water will be installed in 28 hospitals in Kenya and Tanzania. Additionally the waste water will be treated by ULTRA V/O3 systems. The final part-delivery was successfully dispatched in October. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyciKn7IEpE

UST presented the ULTRA V disinfection systems to the trade audience from the sanitation, heating and air-conditioning sector at the 2021 Water Conference in Magdeburg.
The German companies UST Umwelt-Systemtechnik GmbH from Gera and Boreal Light GmbH from Berlin have jointly developed solar-powered water treatment systems that can be used to treat up to 200m³ of water per day to drinking water quality.

A complete water treatment system for the purification of rainwater (2 x 200m³), consisting of coarse and fine filters as well as 2 ULTRA V150/ O3, was installed in a shopping mall. Through the treatment, the water can now be fed into the cooling circuit.
Each of these systems is equipped with 2 immersion heaters of 120W each. This sterilises a small, 10m³ cooling circuit. The immersion lamps enable precise UV output in the water storage tanks. In order to withstand the water currents in the storage tank, a frame was attached to stabilise the lamps.
The system is optimised for increased ozone production and has since made it possible to disinfect a 50m³ cooling circuit without biocide.
UST has further developed the system, which uses both UV and ozone for disinfection. A new 150W lamp made with high purity quartz glass increases ozone generation by over 50%. For this special application, the routing of the ozone-water mixture was changed so that it could still act in the further course of the cooling water pipe.

With the support of our sales representative Andreas Bergen https://www.hv-bergen.de/a demonstration system was exhibited at the Quality Forum of the German Frozen Food Industry (DTI-Qualitätsformum https://www.tiefkuehlkost.de/tk-fuer-alle/aktuelles/veranstaltungen-2/qualitaetsforum-die-jaehrliche-fachtagung).
At the request of a food manufacturer, the ULTRA V1.2k was developed and produced within a very short time. As desired, a water volume of 90m³/h can be completely sterilised.

Through financial support from the European Social Fund and the Free State of Thuringia (funding object: Innovative Personnel), we were able to recruit our former trainee, Ms Salome Dreessen, as a new employee at UST from 01/06/2018. She is currently working on the development of a new generation of water disinfection systems. This will enable UST to meet future requirements as well.
UST takes part at IFAT in Munich for the first time. We can be found on the GWP joint stand at exhibition stand B2.227/326.
As already planned in April 2017, the long-standing Managing Director Ulrich Schreiter left the company on 31/3/2018.
Mr Thomas Neumann has been the sole managing partner since 01/04/2018.
